Mine Spec Fitter Truck Hire
Service body and tray utes built for field maintenance crews, fitted to your site access standard and delivered ready for induction.
What is a fitter truck?
A fitter truck is a 4x4 ute built so a maintenance crew can work out of it in the field. Instead of a plain tub it carries a service body or a tray with lockable tool storage, so tooling, consumables and spares travel with the crew and stay secured and sorted between jobs. Work lighting is fitted so the vehicle is useable after dark, and the body is laid out around the way the crew actually works rather than around a showroom accessory list.
On top of the body, a fitter truck going to a resource site carries the same safety fitout as any other site vehicle. That usually means a bullbar and driving lights, rollover protection, an amber beacon, a UHF radio, high-visibility reflective striping, wheel chocks, a fire extinguisher and first-aid kit and a battery isolator, plus whatever else the site adds to its own access standard.
What platforms are available?
Fitter trucks are built on the same 4x4 platforms as the rest of the site fleet. Toyota Hilux for general field maintenance work, Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series where the ground is rough and the days are long, and Ford Ranger where the crew wants a more comfortable cab for the drive between work fronts.
The body configuration is built to order for the hire, so the storage layout, the canopy or service body and the work lighting are matched to the trade and the task. Tell us what the crew carries and how they work and we will come back with a configuration. The full range is on the ute page.

Can the fitout be matched to our site standard?
Yes. Every vehicle is fitted out to the access standard of the site it is going to, not to a single generic build, because no two operators publish the same list. If your standard asks for particular striping, a set beacon position, extra lighting or a specific way of stowing gear, that is what gets fitted before the vehicle leaves us.
How that works across a fleet is set out on our mine spec fitouts page, and the standard kit list is broken down in the guide to what mine spec requires.
Which regions do you supply?
Fitter trucks go out from our Geebung depot in Brisbane across South East Queensland, including Ipswich and Toowoomba, and out to regional Queensland including the Surat Basin gas project areas around Wellcamp, Dalby, Chinchilla, Miles, Roma and Wallumbilla. In New South Wales we supply Sydney and regional areas including the central west, and in Western Australia we service Perth and surrounds.
Hire is long-term dry hire to business clients with a minimum term of three months, and hire-to-buy is available on selected vehicles. Servicing and registration are managed across the hire. For the wider range see mine spec vehicle hire or get in touch.
