Plug-in hybrid utes and hybrid SUVs for project fleets that need to cut fuel use and report on emissions.
Giidjaa Hire supplies electric and hybrid vehicles on the same long-term dry hire terms as the rest of the fleet, with site fitout, servicing and IVMS included where the site requires it. The range covers plug-in hybrid utes in the BYD Shark 6 and Ford Ranger PHEV, and hybrid or plug-in hybrid SUVs in the BYD Sealion 8, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and Toyota Kluger Hybrid. Every vehicle listed here can also be found under its own category in our vehicles.

Seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV for management fleets with emissions targets. Electric range for the daily commute, petrol for the long runs.

Self-charging hybrid SUV for office-to-site running. Low fuel use, no charging required and Toyota service coverage everywhere.

Plug-in hybrid Ranger with around 40 km of electric range, 3.5 tonne towing and Pro Power Onboard to run tools from the tub. Mine-spec fitout available.

Seven-seat self-charging hybrid SUV for management teams. No charging infrastructure needed and Toyota servicing in every regional town.

Plug-in hybrid SUV with around 80 km of electric range and vehicle-to-load power output. Suits office-to-site running with overnight charging.
For most mining and infrastructure projects we recommend plug-in hybrids over full battery-electric vehicles. A PHEV covers the daily site run on battery when there is somewhere to charge overnight, and runs on diesel or petrol when there is not, so a remote camp with no charging infrastructure is still workable. Full EVs depend on charging and on service coverage that most regional project areas do not yet have, which is why they are not in the range today.
Hybrids without a plug, such as the RAV4 and Kluger, need no charging at all and still cut fuel use by roughly a third on office-to-site running. They suit management and supervisor fleets where the vehicle does a lot of highway kilometres.
All of these vehicles take the standard site fitout and IVMS, and they can be supplied in mine spec where the site requires it. Our mine spec vehicle hire page explains what that involves.
